Program Description

Event Details

Join retired environmental engineer Philip Smith as he introduces us to a new tool in the battle against climate change - online simulator En-ROADS.

En‑ROADS allows users to explore the impact that dozens of policies—such as electrifying transport, pricing carbon, and improving agricultural practices—have on hundreds of factors like energy prices, temperature, air quality, and sea level rise.  This will be an interactive presentation where audience members have the opportunity to visualize and discuss how these and other popular approaches to combating climate change, such as planting trees and reducing fossil fuels, impact the course of global warming through the year 2100.

Come gain a more concrete understanding of where efforts are working and where they are falling short as we look to ensure a healthy environmental future for our planet.
