Program Description

Event Details

Join a naturalist from the Lussier Family Heritage Center for an overview of traits you can use to identify birds in your own backyard. This interactive presentation will review the basics of birding and then teach participants how to use binoculars while practicing bird identification.  Please plan for a 20-minute birding hike at Badger Prairie County Park adjacent to the library. The hiking trails are wide and grassy, with some elevation. Wear shoes appropriate to walking on grass and for current weather.  Bring your own binoculars or borrow one of ours!

An All-Terrain Wheelchair is available for use during this program, please contact heritagecenter@danecounty.gov if you would like to reserve the chair for the hike, free of charge.
